"The Truth About Energy Efficiency - Looking beyond the hype and promises to realistic savings on energy bills" Description:   There are many products on the market that promise to help lower utility bills including new windows, insulation upgrades, replacement furnaces or air conditioners, installing radiant barriers, caulking gaps and cracks, and so on.  Many of them promise unrealistic savings.  We will take a look at potential improvements on a home to help determine what will REALLY make a difference on lowering gas and electricity bills.  We will also look at incentives and rebates that may be available to help pay for certain upgrades to homes. Presented by:  Todd Abercrombie is an independent energy consultant who is president of EverGreen Home Energy Consultants, Inc based in Peoria.  His clients include homeowners, business owners, and contractors in both new and existing homes and buildings.  He does not sell any products or make commissions from recommendations in order to provide unbiased advice to his clients.  He is a certified professional by the Building Performance Institute and is credentialed by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Green Associate.  Todd is also an instructor for Illinois Central College.
