Above and Beyond with Prairie Home Alliance
Prairie Home Alliance is celebrating 50 years in business, and its team of employees could not be more thrilled about receiving the inaugural Above and Beyond Award at the 2025 Thanksgiving Luncheon. “As I think about these awards, I want to be proud for a few minutes, but I want to be grateful forever,” said Prairie Home Alliance President Steve Jackson during his acceptance speech.
Chamber President Jessica Linder Gallo presented the award in recognition of the company’s significant community contributions, economic vitality, and workforce development efforts, “Through their leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment, they make Central Illinois a better place to live, work, and thrive.”
“We provide worry-free home improvements at an excellent value, but the deeper meaning is that we want to leave people and places better than we found them” said Jackson, who later reflected those words with added context.
Jackson says the “places” are the essential part of doing business. Prairie Home Alliance includes ten home improvement companies serving Central Illinois. Six focus on home exteriors- JB&D Siding and Window in Macomb and Galesburg, Peoria Siding and Window, American Siding and Window serving Bloomington-Normal, and Cramer and St. Joseph Siding and Window serving Champaign-Urbana. The Alliance also includes Wood Front Kitchens, Custom Bath Solutions, Gutter Helmet, and B-Dry Systems. Together, the companies help Central Illinois families enjoy homes that are aesthetically pleasing and functionally efficient.
The term “places” also extends to the plethora of organizations that Prairie Home Alliance supports through the donation of products, services, and staff volunteers. Naming the Prairie Home Alliance Theater at the Peoria Civic Center, building a covered, handicap accessible outdoor space for Almost Home Kids, and supporting local veterans with Habitat for Humanity and Tee It Up for the Troops top the company’s 2025 service efforts.
Jackson says the “people” are equally important in every encounter — the customers, vendors, distributors, city and agency leaders, teammates, families, and friends that we associate with daily, “If we can leave people and places better than we found them, our entire community moves forward. We are always grateful for that.”
