Lower Your Energy Costs: February Deadline Approaching for Natural Gas Savings
Rising energy costs continue to put pressure on businesses of all sizes. Through the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s partnership with Good Energy, members have access to a simple, no-cost way to evaluate their natural gas and electricity plans and uncover potential savings they can reinvest back into their business.
For many members, the savings identified through this program have been significant — in some cases, enough to cover the cost of their Chamber membership for the year. With an important February deadline approaching for Ameren natural gas customers, now is the time to take advantage of this member benefit.
What Is the Good Energy Program?
As part of your Chamber membership, you receive a free annual energy evaluation through our trusted partner, Good Energy. Their team reviews your recent utility bills and evaluates your current plan to determine whether better pricing or purchasing options are available.
This process is straightforward, fast, and comes with no obligation. You are simply getting clear information about your energy usage and opportunities to reduce costs.
Why February Matters for Natural Gas Customers
If your business receives natural gas service from Ameren, February is especially important.
Ameren customers have one opportunity each year to switch natural gas suppliers. If you miss this window, you may need to wait until next year to explore new options. Participating in the Chamber’s Natural Gas Buying Group allows businesses to leverage collective purchasing power, which can lead to more competitive pricing than going it alone.
Deadline for Ameren customers to join the Natural Gas Co-op: Friday, February 13.
Nicor customers are welcome to participate as well and can switch suppliers at any time.
How the Process Works
Getting started is easy:
- Watch a short overview video
- Upload a copy of your recent energy bill
- Good Energy evaluates your current plan
- You receive insights and recommendations
- If savings are available, you decide how to move forward
There is no cost to participate and no pressure to make a change. The goal is to give you clarity and options.
A Benefit Designed to Support Your Bottom Line
Energy is a necessary operating expense, but it doesn’t have to be an uncontrollable one. This program has helped Chamber members reduce costs, stabilize budgets, and redirect savings toward growth, staffing, or other business priorities.
For some businesses, the savings identified through the Good Energy program have effectively offset their annual Chamber dues — turning a fixed expense into a net positive.
Take Action Before the Deadline
If you are an Ameren natural gas customer, now is the time to act. Uploading your bill takes only a few minutes and could have a lasting impact on your operating costs.
