SUMMARY:2018 Little Miss Pink and Green Informational
DESCRIPTION:Dear Community Friend\, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc.\, is the oldest Greek Letter organization established by college trained and educated African-American women . The mission of the organization is to "cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards\, and to be of service to all mankind". The local chapter in Peoria has been in existence since 1980\, and has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to college bound high school students from the Peoria area. The Nu Pi Omega Chapter will sponsor its' signature Little Miss Pink and Green Scholarship Ball on September 15\, 2018. The goals of the program are to mentor preteen girls\, assist their transition into adolescence\, raise funds to support participant's future educational goals\, and provide support for other scholarship awards of the chapter. This program has provided financial assistance to many Peoria area students since 2002. At this time\, we are recruiting young girls ages 10 to 14 or 5th through 8th grade to participate in the program and are having an upcoming informational.
