DESCRIPTION:The 29th annual Duck Race\, to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse\, takes place August 26 at 2pm at Eastside Centre in East Peoria. Activities begin at noon. This year's race features a 750-foot slip-n-slide\, which will run down the street leading to Eastside Centre. The ducks will be released from a City of East Peoria dump truck onto the slip-n-slide. Firefighters will help the ducks down the hill by spraying the track with water. The person whose duck makes it to the finish line first will be the winner of $5\,000. There are also many other great prizes to be awarded.
