DESCRIPTION:The Heart of Illinois Human Resources Council is hosting its 2nd annual veterans outreach event\, "Every Day is Veterans Day." The program is Wednesday November 9\, 2016\, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites\, East Peoria. Participants can register at heartofillinois.shrm.org. There is no cost for veterans\, active military\, & reservists to attend. Veteran candidates bring highly sought skills to our workplaces. As more and more enter the workforce\, the need for the business community to effectively assess these skills and find an appropriate fit is increasingly important. Designed for both veterans and business leaders\, this special event will develop job-finding skills for veterans\, help employers develop a veteran hiring program\, and connect the two via a job fair. Workshops topics include Job Fair Readiness\, VA Services\, Team RWB\, Honor Flight\, PTSD\, education\, Benefits and much\, much more! The afternoon is reserved for a JOB FAIR - again\, just for veterans! Over 20 employers\, agencies\, and education services will be present. The agenda for the day follows: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Workshops for Veterans and their Spouses 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Lunch and Keynote Speakers 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Job Fair for Veterans
