SUMMARY:Greater Peoria Green Office Challenge
DESCRIPTION:We would like to announce the launch of a program called the Illinois Green Office Challenge\, a friendly competition amongst organizations looking to save money by conserving energy and water\, while reducing waste within your office building. The Challenge is patterned after the Chicago Green Office Challenge\, an effort that has provided participants with an average reduction of 11% in energy usage. \n\n \n\nThe Illinois Green Office Challenge wants to focus in our region during the coming year\, with plans to expand across the entire state in future years. Training and program support is being provided by University of Illinois Sustainable Technology Center Prairie Research Institute. Local sponsors include Peoria County Office of Sustainability\, EDC for Central Illinois\, and University of Illinois Extension.\n\n \n\nThe Challenge is played like a game\, where participants can score points for fulfilling or issuing specific sustainability challenges to colleagues and competitors. The Challenge website provides participants with the information and tools they need to compete\, and participants can share best practices and ideas with their peers at fun networking events held throughout the Challenge in each of the city areas. Participants will be acknowledged for their hard work through media\, peer recognition and year-end awards.\n\n \n\nThe Illinois Green Office Challenge is currently recruiting participants.
