DESCRIPTION:Have old treasures that need discovered?\n\n\n\nThe public is invited to have a piece of art from their collections valuated by Brett Maly\, star of the History Channel's Pawn Stars and owner of Art encounter Gallery in Las Vegas. There will be an exhibit by nationally and internationally recognized artists from the private collections of Peoria Art Guild members in the gallery during these events.\n\n\n\nThe Peoria Collects event provides two opportunities to have art work valuated.\n\n\n\nFriday\, August 10   Reception 6-10 p.m.\n\nBrett Maly will speak at 7 p.m. on "How to Valuate Fine Art"\n\n$50 includes one piece of art for valuation   $40 Members\n\nA second piece of art may be valuated for an additonal $25.\n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 11   9 a.m. - 1 p.m.\n\n$30 (Limit of two pieces per person)\n\nAppointments may be secured by purchasing a ticket by August 1.\n\n\n\nTickets may be purchased by mailing your request and check to The Peoria Art Guild   203 Harrison St.   Peoria\, IL 61602 or by calling (309) 637-2787. Additional information is available online at peoriaartguild.org\n\n\n\nBrett Maly has served as a Director for Art encounter since 1996 and as its president since 2010. Mr. Maly was certified as an appraiser through UC Irvine's Certification Program in Fine Art & Decorative Arts in 2004. Mr. Maly is a member in good standing with the American Society of Appraisers and has completed his certification in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. In addition to appraising artworks by some of the most important artists of the last 200 years for both private collectors and prestigious institutions\, Mr. Maly has appeared as an expert on radio and television including the History Channel show Pawn Stars\, where he has discussed everything from fine art valuation to its collection and preservation. He is also the author of The Pocket Picker for Fine Art.
