DESCRIPTION:Today\, over 14.3 million households in the United States are food insecure\, meaning they don't know where their next meal will come from. Midwest Food Bank serves to alleviate the struggle of hungry families in America and around the world. By providing an abundance of food donations to food pantries\, disaster relief\, and student backpack programs\, MFB is working to demonstrate Christ's love to all. But we cannot do it alone. Donations from generous individuals and groups help to keep us running\, not to mention the volunteers that donate their time and energy every single day. All of these contributions result in a total donation of $23 million worth of food every month\, distributed to over 2\,000 nonprofit organizations that desperately rely on our charity. But now more than ever\, in the face of COVID-19\, we need your help. The Morton and Peoria branches of Midwest Food Bank are hosting an event called "Restock the Bank\," a silent auction and carry-out banquet to raise money. This money would be going toward food to distribute\, supplies for Tender Mercies (food packets that are shipped to Haiti and East Africa)\, and disaster relief boxes. This is an alternative to our annual Sharing the Blessing Banquet\, which cannot be held in person due to COVID-19. The silent auction\, will be open starting August 19 and ending August 28\, held online\, and the carry-out banquet will take place at the Morton and Peoria branches of MFB.
