DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 4th the Peoria German-American Central Society hosts their annual Schlachtfest at Hickory Grove Park\, 12403 Hickory Grove Rd\, Dunlap\, Illinois\, just off or Rt 40 near Lake of the Woods from Noon to 8 pm.  The event is open to the public.  Free Admission.\n\n                                        \n\nThis year the event will be combined with a celebration of German-American Day\, October 6\, and as a kick-off to German-American Heritage month in Peoria.  \n\n \n\nThe event will feature German Music by Vogel Musik and Al's Pals.\n\n \n\nGerman Beer & Food\, German Car Cruis'n\, & Arts and Craft Fair\n\n \n\nMore Activities: Shooting Tent\, Nagelspielen (German Nail Game)\, Bags & German Gift Tent. \n\n \n\nFor more information go to our website:  www.peoriagermans.net\n\n \n\nGerman Car and Bike Cruis'n\n\n \n\nA German Car Cruis'n is being run at the same time.  Owners of German made cars and/or motorcycles are welcome to participate.\n\n \n\nThe Cruis'n will run from noon until 5 pm.  Participants who arrive before 2:00 pm will receive a coupon for a drink or sandwich.
