DESCRIPTION:Please join us Thursday\, August 22nd at the Alzheimer's Association - Central Illinois Chapter\, 606 W. Glen Ave.\, for a town-hall-style meeting facilitated by Senator David Koehler (D). The program will be held from 10:00-11:00 am.\n\n\n\nIndividuals who attend the meeting can share their thoughts on the state's programs and services for those affected by dementia. Senator Koehler will also explore ideas on increasing advocacy contacts with legislators this year. Alzheimer's advocates communicate with legislators to improve dementia care and services\, improve access to community-based care and care in residential settings as well as expand funding for research and public programs serving people with dementia.\n\n\n\nThe Illinois Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee will utilize information gathered at Town Hall Meetings across Illinois as it prepares its recommendations for Illinois lawmakers and others at state agencies who are addressing the ballooning healthcare issue in the 2014 Illinois Alzheimer's Disease State Plan.\n\n\n\nTo register\, call the Chapter office at 309-681-1100 or email Nikki Vulgaris-Rodriquez at NRodriquez@alz.org.
