Join us as Peoria's vast history comes to life in the setting of the beautiful Springdale Cemetery. This is a great fundraiser and historical event for the entire family! During the tours\, patrons will be guided on a short walk through the Mt. Auburn section of Springdale Cemetery to visit five different Peorians from the past. This year's characters will include Mary Foster Bryner - a leader in the Sunday school movement both locally and internationally\; Daniel B. Allen - a musician in the Civil War\; Sarah E. Royster Owen - the wife of Benjamin Owen\, a local Civil War veteran and boilermaker\; Rev. Addison Coffey - the highly respected reverend of the First Presbyterian church in Peoria \; and Dick Houlihan - the 1950s director of the Peoria Zoo. As always\, tours will be held the first two weekends in October. Friday Oct 4th and Oct 11th evening tours at 6:00pm. Saturday and Sunday tours 5th-6th and 12th-13th will be held at 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. If you want to bring the whole family (2 adults and 2 children) our family rate of $25.00 is the way to go!
