The 27th Annual Duck Race to benefit the Center for Prevention of Abuse is now less than two weeks away. Have you bought your ducks yet? You can by visiting our Duck Race website: www.DuckRacePeoria.com The Center for Prevention of Abuse Duck Race is the longest running duck race in the country. It goes to support all of the programs and services offered at The Center to help victims of violence and abuse. Those services include helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse and elder abuse. The elder abuse program also offers services to adults with disabilities who are abuse victims. The Center also offers Prevention Education. The goal of the prevention educators is to teach children, families and professional staff about things to look for to prevent or stop the various forms of abuse. This includes classes about building healthy relationships, preventing teen dating violence and anti-bullying. The Prevention program partners with over 100 schools and agencies to keep children safe. The generous sponsors of the Duck Race make it possible for every dollar raised by duck sales to go directly to the great programs at The Center. The grand prize for this year's race is $5,000.
