Description
Please join the members of the Peoria Area World Affair Council (PAWAC) at our 45th annual conference for a dynamic look at a region of the Western Hemisphere that is vitally important to the United States & Central America. We'll examine trade and economic issues with John Andersen, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere for the U.S. Department of Commerce; immigration, growing nationalism, and security issues with a panel of experts; and we'll close the conference with His Excellency Roman Macaya Hayes, Ambassador of Costa Rica, giving a closer look at one of the region's success stories. The Peoria Area World Affairs Council (PAWAC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization open to all individuals. Since the first annual conference in 1969, PAWAC has promoted a better understanding of world affairs among the people of Central Illinois by sponsoring public programs and fostering a cooperative educational approach to world problems.
