The Peoria Historical Society will host Pastor Randy Saxon as guest speaker for the Society's Fourth Quarter meeting. Dr. Saxon is a well-known Lincoln and Civil War scholar and Co-Pastor of United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. An author and recipient of numerous distinguished awards, his presentation, 'The Diamond is in the Details: History at its Best,' will discuss the importance of creating and cataloging the best record of people, places, and events. This interactive session will also describe methods for gathering information through a variety of formats including obituaries, oral histories, and provenance. Whether you are interested in furthering your knowledge of history or preparing a familial legacy, we hope you will join us for this educational discussion.
