The Peoria Cabaret Theatre is pleased to announce their upcoming production of Frank McCourt’s “The Irish…And How They Got That Way” March 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th in The Waterhouse’s Broadway Lounge in the MAXAM Building at 316 SW Washington Street in Downtown Peoria! All aboard for this musical journey through time! As McCourt indulges lustily in good song and good humor, he weaves together an irreverent but affectionate and often heartbreaking history of some of the men and women who helped make America great. His razorsharp wit, coupled with his trademark bitter irony, and his boundless love for the Irish are all underscored by glorious music, including “Danny Boy”, “Finnegan’s Wake”, “No Irish Need Apply”, “Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra”, the works of George M. Cohan “Give My Regards to Broadway”, “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, and “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy” to modern day Irish rockers U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. Raise a glass and let's salute those whohave dreams for a better life! Cost is $40 per person plus tax includes a special Irish themed buffet featuring Corned Beef & Cabbage, Dublin Coddle, and Irish Cream Custard Tart for dessert! Special Irish drinks will be available at the bar! The dinner buffet opens at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm. Seats can be purchased by contacting The Waterhouse office at 309-494-9100 or online by visiting BroadwayPeoria.com or PeoriaCabaretTheatre.com.
