The Illinois State University Wind Symphony will present a joint concert with the Metamora High School Wind Ensemble on Saturday, October 28, at 7 p.m. at Metamora High School. The ISU program will include First Suite in E-flat (Gustav Holst, ed. Matthews), The Golden Gray, (Roy Magnuson), Colonial Song and Shepherd’s Hey (Percy Grainger, ed. Rogers), and Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber (Paul Hindemith, tr. Wilson) The evening will end with a joint performance of America the Beautiful (Samueal Augustus Ward, arr. Dragon). This free concert is part of the Illinois State University Wind Symphony’s Fall 2017 Outreach Tour. The tour includes masterclasses with ISU Faculty and presentation by Roy Magnuson titled “The Nature of Creativity” All sessions are free and open to students from any school. The Illinois State University Wind Symphony is conducted by Anthony C. Marinello and the Metamora High School Wind Ensemble is conducted by Chris Render.
