Description
The Little Black Dress Initiative, or LBDI, is a campaign that uses the iconic image of a little black dress to bring awareness to the effects that poverty has on society, including in our own community. LBDI Advocates will wear the same black dress or outfit for the week-long campaign along with a button encouraging others to ask about their outfit. This small gesture illustrates the lack of resources and options that face families who live in poverty. Additionally, participants reflect daily on their social media platforms for additional reach and education. Various events will take place from September 7th-13th to help raise awareness about poverty through LBDI.
