Description
The Peoria Area Civic Chorale caps off its 35th Anniversary season with a program that celebrates the power of music and singing, humor, perseverance, and the magnificent American landscape. Songs will include a sing-along medley of popular songs from the early 1900's including Meet Me in St. Louis, Give My Regards to Broadway and You’re a Grand Old Flag, Carly Simon’s Let the River Run, Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, Dolly Parton’s Light of a Clear Blue Morning, and many others. The Chorale will collaborate with featured soloist Thomas Studebaker on an inspirational setting of The Lord’s Prayer. Tom, a native of Eureka, IL has established himself as a powerful Heldentenor, having appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras (including the London and New York Philharmonic) and opera companies since 1995. The Chorale will also collaborate with the impressive young singers of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus on John Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth. Friday night will feature a festival choir of 3rd and 4th grade singers from eight local schools and Saturday night will feature a post-concert 35th anniversary cake reception sponsored by Lexus of Peoria. You won’t want to miss a moment of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s season finale celebrating 35 years of sharing beautiful and inspirational music with Central Illinois!
