Businesses in Washington are open for business. Chevie Ruder, Executive Director of the Washington Chamber of Commerce explains that many businesses were not damaged by the November tornadoes. “Until people rebuild and many of the displaced residents return to Washington, there are not residents to support the many locally owned businesses in Washington.”
CityLink will be providing a bus for shoppers on Saturday, April 12. The bus will be departing from the Riverfront Clock Tower in front of the Spirit of Peoria at 10 am and returning to Peoria at 3 pm.
Jeff Griffin, President of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, believes this is one way we can support the businesses in Washington. “It can be as simple as spending an afternoon in Washington or dining at a restaurant in Washington. When Mayor Ardis approached us with this idea, I knew this is something the entire business community could get behind. It’s about collaboration and building a sense of community with our neighbors.”
