Description
We love our rock and roll but this Sunday we want to spice it up with a little bit of blues, roots and soul!
Sunday Schedule for Rocking the Blues
12-230: TBA Soon
2:30-4:30 pm: Denise LaGrassa with guitarist Alan Burroughs
4:30-6:30 pm: Matthew Curry
We got our “DO OVER” and we are so thankful and glad that we are hosting Matt Curry and his band this summer at the vineyard, as well as Denise LaGrassa after we had to cancel our opening May festival where they were both scheduled. Come out and join us for this exceptional afternoon showcasing amazing talent and original songs by some very gifted performers.
Artist Bio’s:
Denise LaGrassa has a distinctive sound that is grounded in her early love of soul, R&B & pop, with Aretha and Al Green being particular faves. Astute ears will hear that Charlie Parker and Sarah Vaughan also found their way into her songwriting and performance. Denise’s 2015’s slow-burning “The Blues Ain’t a Color” is the soundtrack to Denise’s one-woman show of the same name has played for diverse audiences at various Chicago venues, including a summer run at the revered Theatre Wit.
Matt Curry was last here in 2012 and we are very excited to welcome him and his band back in 2020! Matt, now 24 is an original roots rock singer/songwriter from Bloomington, Illinois, who is well- known for his incredible guitar-playing abilities. This talent has earned him opening touring slots with The Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton (click here to check out the video!), Steve Miller Band, Journey and more.
Whether he is playing at the Troubadour in LA, Maxwell’s in New Jersey, The Ride Festival in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, or the Hogs Breath Saloon in Key West, Florida, Curry does not disappoint his audience.
Fans have traveled great distances to follow and see him live and we are so happy to bring him back home to Central Illinois and the vineyard where he once played as an amazing teenage talent! Curry’s music appeals to a broad spectrum as he has built a multi- generational audience, and his songs draw from personal inspirations, incorporating elements of rock, blues, southern rock, and old school country.
