She graduated from Bradley University in 2016 with a degree in Music Performance and in 2019 with her Masters in NonProfit Leadership. Maggie currently works as the Grants and Fundraising Coordinator for Corn Stock Theatre and as Director of Music at Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria. She performs regularly in the Central Illinois Area, both playing trombone and singing. She is a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Alumnae Chapter, CrossBones Trombone Ensemble, and Central Illinois Jazz Orchestra. Maggie’s one true passion, however, is musical theatre. She has played for nearly 60 musical productions in the area over the last 8 years. In 2015, she started Music Directing, with Heathers the Musical. She has since MD’d for 5 productions. If you’ve attended or been in a musical with a live band in the last 8 years, you’ve probably heard her play. She loves doing shows most with her mom, Molly, and her sister, Dana. Maggie is proud to be a Sloter girl. Molly Sloter arrived in Peoria in the fall of 1979 as a graduate student in Piano Performance at Bradley University. She joined the professional staff at Bradley in 1982 as staff accompanist for the Music Department and music director for the Theatre Department. She retired in 2019. She played piano for everything that came her way. She took care of the music for stage productions at Bradley University, Corn Stock, Peoria Players, Richwoods High School, and many community events. She taught Voice for the Stage and Acting and stage directed several shows. She accompanied all instruments and voices in the Music Department as well as teaching Oral Skills, Voice Class, and Body Mapping. She was a church choir director and ran Great Expectations back in the day. Her knowledge and experience with a wide variety of styles and genres of music, her versatility with voices and instruments, and her love for working with people found their home in Peoria, especially at Bradley University and Corn Stock Theatre.
