The Peoria Humane Society will hold the seventh annual HUMANe Race on Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at lower Bradley Park to promote physical health for humans while helping needy animals in our community. Participants will walk and run to support the PHS in providing assistance to pet owners in times of need, suppling local food pantry’s with pet food, helping fund low cost spay/neuter surgeries, preventing animal cruelty through education, providing care to sick and injured shelter animals, promoting pets for adoptions, and giving hope to people through pet therapy visits.
Online registration runs through Friday, May 3, and race day registration is 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with the race starting at 1 p.m. Packet pick-up is Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Peoria Humane Society Education Center, 2600 NE Perry, Peoria.
Awards will be given for men and women in several age groups as well as trophies to top man, top woman, and top dog in the 5K.
