Walk In My Shoes

Description

In the Greater Peoria Area, 378 people identified as homeless in the census last year. However, this homeless population is currently invisible in the Peoria area. Invisible meaning that the average Peorian doesn't recognize that homelessness is occurring, or even a problem in the area. Our goal for the Walk in My Shoes campaign is to bring awareness to this problem, and increase support for the homeless. We recognize clothing donations during the fall and winter months are helpful, but shoes are often forgotten. We are partnering with Running Central and Dream Center Peoria to bring awareness to this issue by collecting donations of shoes to give back to Peoria's homeless. Donate your gently-used shoes from now until November 11th. Join us at Running central on November 11th from 11am-2pm for our National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Event. We will provide free food and entertainment. When you donate shoes, you can enter for your chance to win a prize from our raffle.
