Description
Join the Central Illinois Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired to learn about the iconic White Cane and its history in Peoria that dates back to the 1930's. Our event will be held at the Peoria Riverfront Museum, where the original White Cane is on display as you enter the dining hall from the parking deck. Doors will open at 6pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served until 7pm. At Dusk, the Murray Baker bridge will be lighted in Red & White, in recognition of this national observance in which President Lynden B. Johnson established in 1964. Enjoy the company of friends while listening to the pianist, browse and bid on any of our auction baskets, purchase 50/50 tickets or take a chance at our blind wine draw before dinner starts at 7pm. Following dinner and dessert, our special guest Pierre Paul, the Founder & CEO of We Hear You (www.wehearyouasl.com) will deliver an inspiring keynote address on advocacy and support for the visually impaired community. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying a delightful evening. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Central Illinois Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired, helping us to continue providing essential services and support to those in need. We look forward to seeing you there!
