About Us

The National Youth Advocate Program, Inc. (NYAP) is a multi-state not-for-profit organization founded in 1978 to provide in-home and community-based services for youth and families as an alternative for young people placed in group homes, detention or other institutions of juvenile confinement. From its earliest days, NYAP has believed in the power of families and communities to solve problems, with child- and family-centered care being principles that are paramount to our overall program philosophy. NYAP is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and certified as a trauma informed organization. Over the years, NYAP has evolved and now provides an array of services to adults, youth and families.
