Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth 

Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth

Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth has served in the Illinois House of Representatives since 2009, representing the 92nd District. A dedicated advocate for education, economic development, and criminal justice reform, she has played a key role in shaping legislation that strengthens communities across Illinois. As Assistant Majority Leader, she has championed workforce development initiatives and policies that promote equity and opportunity for all. A lifelong resident of Peoria, Gordon-Booth has worked tirelessly to improve public education, expand job opportunities, and support small businesses. She has been instrumental in securing funding for local infrastructure projects and advancing reforms that address disparities in the criminal justice system. Her leadership and commitment to public service continue to make a significant impact in Central Illinois and beyond.

Representative Travis Weaver 

Representative Travis Weaver

Representative Travis Weaver serves the 93rd District in the Illinois House of Representatives, bringing a strong background in business and leadership to his role in state government. A native of Central Illinois, he is committed to fostering economic growth, reducing government overreach, and improving education opportunities for Illinois residents.

Prior to his time in the legislature, Weaver worked in the private sector, where he gained valuable experience in finance and corporate leadership. He is a passionate advocate for fiscal responsibility, job creation, and policies that support small businesses. His focus remains on strengthening the local economy and ensuring a prosperous future for his district.

Senator Li Arellano Jr.

Representative Travis Weaver

Liandro “Li” Arellano, a U.S. Army veteran and former Mayor of Dixon, was sworn in as Illinois State Senator for the 37th District on January 8, 2025. The district spans over all or parts of Bureau, DeKalb, Henry, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Whiteside, and Woodford counties.

A small business owner, Li opened his first restaurant at 26. As Dixon’s Mayor (2015-2023), he tackled economic development and fiscal challenges. Li served in three combat deployments and is now a Squad Leader in the Army Reserves. He and his wife, Jamie, have five children.

Senator David Koehler

Representative Travis Weaver

Senator David Koehler has been a dedicated public servant and community advocate for decades. Born and raised in South Dakota, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Yankton College and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary. His career began in advocacy, working with the National Farm Worker Ministry before moving to Peoria, where he became a community organizer and later led the Peoria Area Labor Management Council.

Koehler’s public service spans local and state government, having served on the Peoria County Board, Peoria City Council, and since 2006, the Illinois Senate. He has held leadership roles including Majority Caucus Whip and Assistant Majority Leader, championing labor relations, economic development, and healthcare initiatives. He is married with three daughters, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and is a proud grandfather of three granddaughters and one grandson.

As the VP of Operations at the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and a Trustee of the Peoria Park District, Alex is deeply involved in Peoria’s business and civic landscape. His ability to facilitate meaningful dialogue will ensure a thoughtful and engaging conversation among our panelists.
