Recap: 2025 State Legislative Luncheon Strengthens Dialogue Between Lawmakers and Central Illinois Businesses

On February 24, the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the 2025 State Legislative Luncheon, sponsored by the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria. This event serves as a vital platform for connecting Central Illinois business leaders with state legislators, fostering open, solution-focused conversations on the issues shaping our region’s economic future. 

Held at the Four Points by Sheraton, the luncheon offered attendees a valuable off-the-record opportunity to engage directly with elected officials. This candid format ensured an honest exchange of ideas, concerns, and solutions as legislators tackled pressing questions submitted in advance by our business community. 

Legislative Leaders Take the Stage 

The event’s distinguished panel featured: 

  • Senator Li Arellano Jr. 

  • Senator David Koehler 

  • Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth 

  • Representative Travis Weaver 

These leaders shared critical updates on legislative priorities, offering insights into policies directly impacting local businesses. Topics ranged from workforce development and tax policies to infrastructure and transportation initiatives, all with a focus on strengthening Central Illinois’ business climate.
