Free Day At Wildlife Prairie Park on Aug. 16
Nationally-Recognized Park Kicks Off Membership Drive With Community Fun
HANNAH CITY, IL — Summer may be almost over, but the fun is just beginning at Wildlife Prairie Park. The well-loved park is opening their gates to everyone for free on Sunday, August 16, encouraging visitors to discover the park in a new way, whether by learning about native animals, hiking the 15 miles of trails, riding the train or fishing and canoeing.
This free day also kicks off an effort to increase membership for the park. In order to grow and improve this local landmark, the park hopes to add 45O new members before the end of October. Wildlife Prairie Park strives to make conservation, education and recreation accessible to all. A yearlong family membership at the park costs as little as $7.08 a month. Those interested in becoming members will be able to sign up at the event and will be entered to win prizes. Membership has additional perks, including unlimited park access, monthly communications and discounts.
What: Free Day at Wildlife Prairie Park
Attractions include:
- Free admission
- Pancake/sausage breakfast for purchase from 9–11 a.m. at Wildside Grille
- Feeding Frenzy: Predator Prowl at 11:00 a.m. outside of the Visitor’s Center
- Wildlife Chat at 12:30 p.m. outside of the Visitor Center
- Bison & Elk Feeding at 1:00 p.m. at the Hespell Deck
- Creature Feature at 1:30 p.m.
- Adventure Trek and train rides for purchase
- Prizes and giveaways
When: August 16, from 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Why: This event kicks off a membership drive. Wildlife Prairie Park hopes to gain 450 new members during the effort, ending in October.
