Who is Brittany: Even though Brittany was diagnosed blind, autistic, and mentally disabled, she possessed a musical talent that surfaced at the age of 6, when she began playing Schubert's Ave Maria on a toy piano. It was soon to be known that Brittany was able to play any song, numbering into the thousands, after only a couple times of hearing it. Composing her first album at the age of 12, Brittany’s original compositions became her new form of communication. Brittany has inspired millions around the world without saying a word, and has been called “the leading female prodigious savant pianist in the world."
Purpose: To raise awareness for people with intellectual developmental disabilities and the Best Buddies mission, dedicated to establishing opportunities for one-to-one friendships. This performance also teaches the broader message that your obstacles do not define you, and you are greater than you believe.
